    1. Campbell Carter has just lost her mother, Suzanne, to cancer. Suzanne was a beloved art teacher in her early forties. She raised Campbell as a single mother, never sharing with Campbell who her father was, or much about her childhood. Campbell knew practically nothing about the close friendships Suzanne had with Jane, Lila and Meghan, the girls she spent her summers with in Sweethaven, Michigan. What happened to their friendships? Upon mailing the letters she found left by her mother to Jane, Li [...]

    2. I loved this book.I loved the plot, the characters, the writing, the setting. In short…oh yeah, I already said that, but I’ll say it again. I loved this book. There is a pure freshness about the story and the characters that fill the pages. It’s my favorite kind of novel to read. Filled with characters that struggle and yet push on, characters that fill my heart and a plot that grips with maybe a twist or two. With four point of view characters, you’d think things might get a little squirr [...]

    3. What a treat this story was! At first I wasn't sure I would like this story because it sounded like it could be a bit of a downer, but wow, was I surprised at how much I loved it in the end. I wanted to read this novel every chance I could. I thought about the story even when I wasn't able to sit down, relax, and enjoy it. That's a good book that preoccupies my thoughts.I loved how romantic it was on so many levels. Though each character had their own grief to deal with, it wasn't only about the [...]

    4. I can see why this book hit the bestseller list! Author Courtney Walsh hits all the emotions just right. I want to hug all the characters, especially the long-suffering Campbell. I kept expecting her to haul off and slug the next person who answered her questions with "It's complicated." Fortunately Campbell's more patient than I am. I loved the brief journeys back to the 1980s - a decade I missed because I was busy have babies, the pitch-perfect romance with Luke, and the warmth of summer in Sw [...]

    5. My sweet friend Courtney Walsh's debut novel is wonderful! It had me from the beginning. I felt like Campbell was my sister & I was on a secret mission with her to Sweethaven. The characters in this novel all became my dearest friends & Sweethaven became a dream place to visit. Thank you, Courtney.your book showed me alot! Friendship, forgiveness, love & memories. So proud of you & can't wait to read more!!!

    6. A Sweethaven Summer captivated me from the first paragraphs. Bittersweet memories, long-kept secrets, the timeless friendships of women––and a touch of sweet romance. Beautifully written and peopled with characters who became friends, this debut novel is one for my keeper shelf––and, I hope, the first of many to come from Courtney Walsh's pen.I had the privilege of reading this book for endorsement. You won't want to miss it when it comes out Spring 2012.

    7. A good first novel. I found it a bit hard to read for more than a few chapters at a time until I got about 2/3 rds of the way through the book. The last third really improved and I read it straight through to the end.

    8. I'm not going to lie. This book made me cry. A couple of times. But that was a good thing because it means the story tugged at my heart and really came off the page. I wasn't able to distance myself from it. I had to feel it.I wish I could say that I was surprised by some of the family situations in this book, but alas it seems like they were almost too familiar to what people I know have gone through or at least similar. It seems that family has the greatest capacity to love you but also the gr [...]

    14. I enjoyed this story a lot. I loved all the characters and thought the setting sounded lovely. I felt so badly for Campbell, losing her mother the way she did and then learning the secrets that she had kept. The ending, though I somewhat expected it, was still very surprising and made me feel for all involved in that. Jane's history with Sweethaven was hard to read, but I was glad with the way the book ended things in regard with the as well. All in all, this was a very enjoyable book and I'm lo [...]

    15. A Sweethaven Summer is a sweet read. Campbell Carter discovers her mother's scrapbook from her summer trips to Sweethaven. She decides to go to Sweethaven and discover a part of her mother's life she never had access to. I loved getting to know the friends through Campbell's eyes and discovering what split the group of friends up. This book made me want to go on a vacation and enjoy the simple things in life.

    16. A Sweethaven SummerAt first I didn't think I'd want to read this book. BUT, Oh I was so WRONG! I loved the story of each of their lives, helping remind me , nothing is as it seems. We all have a story, make mistakes, and need to forgive ourselves and others. This was a BEAUTIFUL story. I hope there's another book that continues the story of their lives as they move forward. I will most definitely read it! LOVEED the book!

    17. What an interesting book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It takes place in Michigan, my home state and I found it brought back many summer memories of being a teenager in MI. If is the story of a young woman who has just lost her mother and only parent, as she goes back to the place where her then teenaged mother conceived her to try to find out who her father may be. A very enjoyable book.

    18. PoignantThis book was an incredible journey for me. It took a while to get used to the perspectives switching and figuring out who each character was, but by the end of the book, I loved seeing everyone's different journeys. I thought the theme of faith played very nicely into this story.

    19. Sweethaven Summer- A Sweet Read! This is an enjoyable story about friendship, loyalty, and forgiveness. With believable characters, I cared about, in an idyllic setting: an all around good book!

    20. Loved this! Can't wait for book 2. If you are a scrapbooker, this will make you love the hobby all over again and you'll want to run for your supplies. If you aren't a scrapbooker its still a great read!

    21. Downloaded this for vacation--thought it would be a quick read while I was on the beach. Not impressed. This book is too simplistic and saccharine for my tastes--I prefer books with more realistic plots. Plus the story meanders all over the place.

    22. Loved this book, as well as the sequels. "A Sweethaven Summer" caught my attention immediately. It was one of those books that I couldn’t put down. I felt like I was one of those Sweethaven girls, imagining my teenage summers. Those beachy themes always catch my attention! A very inspiring and clean story of teenage problems, how scrapbooking forms their lives, and reunions! The end is so beautiful and you better keep a box of tissues handy. Recommend this book and the sequels. You won’t be [...]

    23. I loved this story. It was full of questions and each character had a rich story of their own that kept me turning the page. I enjoyed following Campbell and cheering her on in every step of her quest. I must say I saw the big surprise at the end a mile away, but it's fulfillment was no less satisfying. I fully intend to continue this series. I can't wait to see how each character's story unfolds.

    24. Could not figure why Suzanne did not tell her closest friends who Campbell's dad was. With all the years that had passed.Adele was a nice easy going person to help all the girls. All but her own child.I love the easy days of being where you could run around and know people, have a group to care for and love. Suzanne brought them all together.I loved reading this book.

    25. Redemption and ReconnectionsWhat if you discovered your family history was a lie? Campbell, after losing her mother, discovers that she may not be alone in the world after all. Sweetheart brings the promise of family and a future, but it will bring revelation and heartache as well. Is Campbell strong enough for the truth?
