    1. 2.5 HEARTS--This book suffers from trywaytooharditis. It was too kitschy, too trendy, too many unnecessary words, puns and plot twists. Too much. Meh.If I could get away with an entire review of just about 50 "meh" and "eh", this would be the book for it. I'll aim to review longer than the blurb. *fingers crossed* But I'd rather get to the point (of which this book really didn't seem to have) other than showing how on scene it could be.This book tried too hard to impress, tried too hard to be wit [...]

    2. BEST-LAID PLANS is an enemies to lovers romance filled with banter and tension, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me.Teddy and Jefferson didn't get along, never have and never will. They're tied together by their best friends, Noelani and Emmett, who were in love. Their friends bought a house that was out of their means, so they needed tenants to help pay the bills. They had Teddy and Jefferson move in to help out. Teddy and Jefferson then became roommates. Yay.Now that they're living togethe [...]

    3. **I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**Best-Laid Plans was a fun sweet read. The only problem I had was it didn't seem to flow well for me. At times I had to stop and reread sections because I got confused about who was speaking or what happened. Unfortunately, it happened quite a few times pulling me from the flow of the plot. I don't know if was from my own distractions or not but it didn't hold my attention like I wanted it to. I did find some scenes betwe [...]

    4. I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.Best-Laid Plans is a fun, light m/m romance. Jefferson and Teddy are complete opposites but that is what makes the fun. They don't get along so if you like an enemies to loves story this might be the book for you. I really enjoyed the scenes where Teddy and Jefferson are avoiding each other - very amusing. For me as the book went on their wasn't that much to hold my interest even with the ongoing drama between their romantic [...]

    5. there were parts of this book that were funny and sweet and made me laugh out loud but I kept getting lost and having to re-read parts to figure out what the heck was going on and who was even talking. It really felt like this book needed a better editor.

    6. Review can be read at It's About The BookThis book was a big jumble of likes and dislikes. There was plenty of humor but at times it felt forced or too much. The book was set up with the promise of the trope enemies to lovers, which I love but I didn’t really understand why they didn’t like each other in the first place. Other than Teddy is redheaded and has a quick temper. Jefferson never really seems to do anything worthy of Teddy’s hate besides mouthing off here or there. There was also [...]

    7. I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.I have to say this and get it out of way so I can move on from it. I nearly did not read this book because of the cover. I have a tendency to scan past books with cartoonish covers for some reason – they literally repel me. Fortunately I noticed the author’s name and as a fan of Ms. Okati’s writing I ignored the cover and dove right in and I am so glad that I did because watching the romance between Teddy and Jefferson [...]

    8. Okati is one of those authors who make you identify with the characters from the first page. Teddy is an adorable flaming drama queen who is best friends with Noelani. Noelani is dating Emmett. Emmett’s best friend is Jefferson, a soccer jock who stumbles over expressing himself. Teddy and Jefferson can’t stand each other, rubbing each other the wrong way with every interaction. But loyalty to friends is stronger than hatred, so Teddy and Jefferson reluctantly form an alliance to help Noelan [...]

    9. A Joyfully Jay review. 3.5 starsThis story is a romantic comedy with an emphasis on comedy. Teddy is an over the top drama queen with a quick wit and a fiery temper to match his hair. Most of the time that temper is directed at Jefferson, the jock with a smoking hot body. While Jefferson is trying to keep the peace, Teddy manages to get under his skin at every turn. The secondary characters, Noelani and Emmett, are front and center throughout the entire book. Noelani was engaged to Emmett’s bes [...]

    10. Sometimes you pick up a book and find that it is exactly what you were looking for. When I read this story I was home for a few days between stressful work trips, and decided to treat myself to one afternoon with a new book. Best Laid Plans was perfect. The story was sweet and the characters were engaging, and I could just escape into it for awhile. The uniting force in this story is the love and concern Teddy and Jefferson feel for their friends, and as a reader, I found myself caring about wha [...]

    11. A little funny, mostly annoyingI've liked a number of Ms. Okati's stories but this won't be a favorite. I was getting pretty bored at around 30%. Yes, some parts were a little humorous. More were just rather confusing and seemed pointless. I also hate the short guy with really tall guy and smaller guy automatically bottoms. If you're gonna make a character 5'4", why can't he date someone 5'9"? No, he's always gotta be 6' or more. And then if he's short, he's gotta be femme too? Just things that [...]
