    1. I never know what to expect when I read an authors book that I have never come across before, but this book took my attention, not only with the title, the cover but the blurb. After reading and reviewing for so many years I have learnt a lot and one thing is, I choose to read my books wisely, as wisely as I can so that my reviews are no less that 3 stars, and its not often now that I am wrong, I am pleased to say. I stick to the genre that I like too.Next of Kin Here we have an author that has [...]

    2. This book was so good! Sue Welfare is a fantastic Chick Lit author, with many wonderful novels to her name, so it's nice to see her dive into a new world, with the release of her first ever psychological thriller. This was so well done - we know early on that something bad has happened, as Sarah finds herself in a police interview room recounting her tale. Someone is quite obviously dead, and the as the novel unfolds we discover just what happened to Sarah's life. This was a psychological novel a [...]

    3. When mom asked me to read and review this book I was a bit skeptic I really wasn't sure if I would like it. It takes me a lot to even finish a book let alone enjoy them, I am a very fussy reader I started reading the book and within the first few pages I was already hooked! I don't want to give anything away but the way this book was written I really truly felt like I was in the story my heart was racing in parts and I even had tears in some parts! Normally I can predict what is going to happen [...]

    4. I associate Sue with my favourite genre of chick lit. I knew Next of Kin would be altogether darker but the story line drew me in straight away. I didn't know what to expect but Sarah was such a believable character and I had to keep reading to see what had lead up to her sitting in a police interview room. What a page turner. Note to self - never get a lodger!!

    5. In the days when I used to have an office, I had one of those notices on the wall which read "Smile and be happy, they said, for things could be worse! So I smiled and was happy and, behold, things did get worse!" I was reminded of this by Sue Welfare's latest book because it was really an exercise in seeing just how much 'worse' things could become for Sarah, and boy do they get worse.I've been a fan of Sue's light, romantic comedy books ever since I read my first 'Just Desserts' and found it b [...]

    6. Sue Welfare is walking the path laid by romance heavyweights Nora Roberts, Kay Hooper and Tami Hoag with style! Her debut thriller is subtle. She builds the tension paragraph by paragraph until it grips your chest and you have to keep reading. Sarah is doing her absolute best to keep it together, despite her layabout brother Ryan doing his best to sabotage her life. Woody, her brother's seemingly sensible friend is a gift. But with all gift horses, you should definitely check the teeth. Her famil [...]

    7. This is not my usual choice of genre at all but, having read nearly all of Sue Welfare’s ‘rom/com’ books – and enjoyed them very much – I was happy to read her crime story, Next of Kin, in return for an honest review.I have to say that I absolutely loved it! It really had me gripped and I had difficulty putting it down (a night’s sleep was essential!). I didn’t work out exactly who was dead until very late in the book, it could’ve been one of several characters.Like all Sue’s b [...]

    8. I have always enjoyed Sue Welfare's chick lit and when I heard that her next novel was to be a psychological thriller, I was looking forward seeing how this would compare. Wow. You would never know she was new to this genre, and I have to this book is now my favourite of hers. Believable characters and a plot that just keeps you wanting to find out more, this book comes highly recommended. I won't say anything at all about the storyline. Suffice to say Wait and see! It will leave you wanting Sue [...]

    9. A pulse-pounding thriller!I read this book in three days (only because I've a bad shoulder and couldn't hold it longer than a few hours at a time).Whilst Woody's motive was clear to me from the start, and I did guess the ending- correctly- I really enjoyed the momentum. The fast-paced character and plot-driven thriller is a very rare find indeed. Welfare manages both brilliantly.I really enjoyed this original psychological thriller, and hope to read more from this author.

    10. There was no build- up, no gentle introduction into this story. Sue Welfare grabs the reader’s attention from the first page and the suspense builds from there to The End. An entertaining, wonderfully written story, all the more frightening because the situation and characters are so realistically portrayed. I highly recommend it.

    11. BrilliantI absolutely love Sue Welfare's novels. Great plots with well developed, believable characters that make them impossible to put down.

    12. I'm so surprised at the rave reviews and the rating of this book! A long winded story about not much with poor dialogue and uninteresting characters. There are so many great books out there that are true edge of your seat reads.n't waste your time with this one.

    13. Brilliant This book was easy to read from start to finish I couldnt put it down! A great first book from this writer , if her subsequent books are anything like as good as this ill be reading them all for sure ! Bravo miss welfare .!

    14. I was hooked on this suspense and immensely intense thriller from the start. Although the plot became knowledgable to the reader at some point mid book, it was still fantastically written and I enjoyed every bit of the book.

    15. Sue is one of my favourite authors but this is a journey into the unknown for her. Her usual genre is romance/romantic comedy and this is a hard, suspenseful thriller. So I was curious to read it.Well, I can say, without any shadow of a doubt, that this is by far one of the best suspense books I have ever read! The characters were all well defined and totally believable. The plot was excellent and I was cheering at the end! I absolutely galloped through, so desperate was I to find out what happe [...]

    16. I was so happy to have won a copy of this book, I've never read any books by this author before so was really excited to start it, from Chapter one I was drawn in, the storyline was totally gripping and I just could not put the book down, would definitely recommend and I give this book 5 stars without doubt.

    17. I won this book via giveaway.I was really excited to read this book when I got it. Unfortunately, I didn't get into it as much as I was expected. The worst part is that I don't really know why. The story is good and captivating. Maybe I was expecting too much.Anyways, I still recommande this book to people who enjoy thriller.

    18. Fantastic page turnerCleverly written psychological thriller which develops the 3 main characters throughout the story. You can't failed to be hooked by this story and how Woody reels in his victims, Ryan and Sarah.

    19. I loved this book. I was recommended it by a book club and the story looked interesting. The book was gripping, clever and kept me screaming at the pages to the characters! really good read. finished it in 2 days!

    20. BreathtakingAn adventure from start to end a couldn't put down thriller of a book didn't want it to end. Amazing
