    1. Remember that time Fiver went to Vortis and kicked off a Zarbi orgy? Good times, brother. Good times. Also, I don’t know why on the side bar on the cover of this Fiver looks like he just walked into a fresh cloud of curry fart that Tegan left floating in the console room, but I love it.

    2. While I love the William Hartnell era of Doctor Who, I cannot say that I have much love for The Web Planet; a story that does a fantastic job of imagining an entirely alien, insectoid world but which lacks a compelling narrative.Fortunately this audio drama is able to realize much of the potential of that fascinating setting by matching it to a more engaging tale complete with a pair of interesting, relatable (yet still very alien) characters. The result is a story that is still just as weird an [...]

    3. Return to the Web Planet, which is a one-disc special released by Big Finish just over a year ago, takes Five and Nyssa back to Vortis to help the Menoptera scientist Acheron and his daughter Hedyla to deal with mysterious goings-on among the local Zarbi herds. This turns out to be due to a human intervention, whose details I found rather implausible even by Who standards, but the acting and soundscape - especially the soundscape! - help carry it off successfully.

    4. I felt that having not seen the Web Planet I was really missing out listening to this. I think I've seen a photo of what the Zarbi look like. But I had a hard time picturing this alien world. I thought there was some very nice interactions between Nyssa and the young alien woman. But the plot felt a bit rushed and strange.

    5. The Fifth Doctor and Nyssa visit The Web Planet where they find a rogue scientist, his wingless daughter, Zarbi and two humans who are supposed to develop a colony. However, they have inadvertently stolen something precious to the Zarbi. This is not good.
